  • Can metal roofing be installed on a flat roof?

    The lowest roof pitch we can install on is 3/12 for Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, and Mediterranean Tile.

    In some cases, we can install Mechanical-Lock Standing Seam on a roof pitch of at least 2/12.

  • Can metal roofing be installed over asphalt shingles?

    Depending on local building codes, an Interlock Metal Roofing System can be installed over top of one layer of asphalt composition shingles.

    That being said, all roof overs will need a deck inspection for structural integrity. Please speak with our install team for additional information.

  • Can metal roofing be used for siding?

    Depending on local building codes, an Interlock Metal Roofing System may be use as siding.

  • What is the gauge of Interlock Metal Roofing?

    Gauge thickness for the following Interlock Roofing Systems:

    • .028" — Standing Seam
    • .028" — Tile
    • 0.28" — Shake
    • 0.19" — Slate
    • 0.19" — Cedar Shingle

  • Can metal roofing be recycled?

    Yes, All trims and aluminum roofing components can be recycled.

  • Will metal roofing rust?

    All Interlock Metal Roofing Systems are made from heavy gauge aluminum which will not rust. In addition, all our roof systems are coated with the Alunar Coating System for extra protection.


  • Why metal roofing vs asphalt shingles?

    If you are planning to live in your home for more than tens years, metal roofing is a perfect choice. 

    All Interlock Metal Roofing Systems come with a Lifetime Limited Warranty. This warranty is one-time transferable to a second homeowner. Once transferred, the warranty becomes a 50-year Non-prorated Warranty.
